City of Redlands

Seal of the City of Redlands, featuring orange branches and "Incorporated 1888" text in a circular design.

“Redlands’ commitment to the Mayors Climate Action Accord, in 2007 put the city on the path towards setting up a strategy for reducing greenhouse gases and achieving a sustainable future. Even before signing this accord, the city had taken several actions to reduce emissions and improve energy and operationally efficient. For example, the Quality of Life Department started converting our solid waste fleet to low-carbon fuels to achieve operational cost savings and reduce air pollutants originating from these vehicles. To date, these efforts have not been guided by a set of  coordinated policies or monitored to assess progress towards reducing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. With the Redlands Community Sustainability Plan such efforts can also be counted towards meeting state mandates recently established and towards meeting our Mayors Climate Action Accord commitment.” - Redlands Community Sustainability Plan
