Regional Climate Collaboratives

Helping cities and counties plan for and adapt to climate change impacts is a fairly new field of work. Many of the collaborative regional efforts that have been working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are now also starting to address adaptation.  Find regional collaboratives in California to help link with other cities and counties working on similar issues.

2030 Resilient Networks Collaborative

This tribally-led “2030 Resilient Networks Collaborative” intends to build the capacity of tribes and tribally-led organizations in partnership with environmental experts in the region. The vision of the project is to create a blueprint for tribes in California to expand their capacity to be “on par” with those of a large organization with experience in climate-related projects, and to become primary contenders for upcoming climate-resilience funding.

Siskiyou Climate Collaborative

The Siskiyou Climate Collaborative (SCC) unites partners from natural resources, agriculture, outdoor recreation and workforce expertise. Collaborative stakeholders are committed to inclusive and equitable planning to seek solutions for Siskiyou County’s diverse working landscape. SCC aims to create an equity centered community process with the goal of developing an actionable Climate Resiliency Plan (CRP) which will bring crucial climate resilience funds to rural communities.
The Siskiyou Climate Collaborative received funding through Round 1 of the Strategic Growth Council’s Regional Climate Collaboratives program.

Southern California Tribal Regional Climate Collaborative

The Southern California Tribal Regional Climate Collaborative (SCT RCC) will rapidly and systematically advance climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resilience goals of the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association (SCTCA) Member Tribes, individually and collectively. The SCT RCC will identify the climate related needs and priorities of each tribe, match their needs and priorities to available funding and other assistance, and provide comprehensive support to secure needed funding and assistance, resulting in a continuous stream of successfully completed tribal climate change plans and projects.
