City of Concord
This Concord Citywide Climate Action Plan (CAP) has been prepared in response to mandates from the State of California intended to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases statewide, because of their contribution to global climate change. The city has identified the ways it will take action to support the State’s goals while supporting the local economy and quality of life. The strategies included in this plan work in several ways:
- Building performance,
- Transportation systems and land use,
- Adaptation, and
- Participation.

- Approved an Environmental Purchasing Policy (2013)
- Adopted water-efficient landscape regulations (2016)
- Adopted Bicycle, Pedestrian, & Safe Routes to Transit Plan (2016) and established a Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (2017)
